ABOUT THE PLAY
The Little Mermaid Jr. is a stage adaptation of the beloved 1989 Disney animated film, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale. Tailored for young performers, this condensed musical features memorable songs like “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” and “Kiss the Girl,” with a story that follows Ariel, a curious mermaid who dreams of life on land. The show highlights themes of self-discovery, courage, and the power of following one’s heart. With its colorful characters, catchy music, and heartfelt message, The Little Mermaid Jr. continues to enchant audiences of all ages in schools and youth theaters around the world.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE
Ladies and Gentlemen… Welcome to our first of two big musicals for our year three of the Crismon Theater Company!
The Little Mermaid Jr is a fantastic Disney musical that brings to life such great songs as “under the sea” and “ part of your world!” The beautiful tale takes us on a journey of love and loyalty.
This will be my fourth time directing this junior production and I must say that once again it is with great pleasure that I say that these kids…YOUR kids… are the best performers in those four times.
I have also got to the point now to see and appreciate, as you will too, the growth of many performers who have been acting since the start with Frozen Junior !
Please sit back and relax and enjoy this delightful production of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr!

Mya Mendoza
"Ariel"
Mya Mendoza is a sophomore at crismon, she is thrilled to be apart of this production and cannot be more grateful for her lead role as Ariel, their constant motivation to participate in theater is derived from their family, friends and teachers and the support they all bring. In her free time she participates in orchestra and clubs like DND, and art. She’d also like to give a special thanks to Mr. Thorn, Ms. P, and Mr. Lloyd, for being the teachers that kept school fun and fueled her love for the Arts.

Blakely White
"Ariel"
Blakely is a dedicated actor, making her fifth stage appearance, excited to play such a courageous character. She couldn't have imagined what awaited her when she auditioned, and landing the role was a dream come true. Off-stage, she plays violin in Crismons Orchestra, sings in the choir, and has danced most of her life. This show has been a blessing, and she thanks everyone who helped her, especially her family—her brother Chandler for helping with lines, her parents, her vocal coach, and director Mr Thorn. She appreciates everyone who came to watch and support her. She’s poured her heart into this role and hopes her dedication shows. Enjoy the show!

Brandon Vasquez
"Sebastian"
Hi everyone, I'm Brandon Vasquez, and I'm playing Sebastian in our production of The Little Mermaid JR. I'm a freshman here at Crismon and I've had over 4 years of theater & singing experience. I'm very thrilled to share with you what we've been working on for the past two months. Sebastian has always been one of my favorite Disney characters and I couldn't be more grateful to be playing as him. When not performing, I enjoy making music, reading my Bible, making YouTube videos, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family. A huge thank you to the cast, crew, and all of you for supporting us. God has really blessed us with this amazing theater. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Jesus loves you! Isaiah 41:10

Owen Insalaco
"Flounder"
I started out my theater journey when I first did Beauty and the Beast. After that I was pretty sure that I knew I wanted to do theater. It was frustrating though because I wasn't old enough to do almost anything theater related. That all changed this year when I did SpongeBob the musical at Queen Creek High School, and now I'm being given the opportunity to be Flounder. Some people who inspired me to start theater and got me where I am now are my brothers Ethan and Aaron Insalaco, my parents Josh and Christina Insalaco. All of the friends I made along the way as well also helped me. When I started my theater journey I started with smaller roles and then I worked my way all the way up to a bigger role than what I was expecting.

My love for theater started when I was a little girl. I would watch Disney movies with my family and sing my heart out to the songs that the characters would sing. Now that I'm a junior in high school, I am being given so many chances to show my love for theater. I want to thank Mr. Thorn and the Crismon Theater Company for giving everyone an opportunity to pursue acting in so many amazing shows. I would also like to thank my family and friends that have shown so much love and support. I am so excited to play Ursula and design makeup for this show and I can't wait to see what other opportunities will be given to me.

Sarah Matamoros
Master Scenic Artist
A few years ago, Sarah had a paradigm shift. She realized that the words “I can’t” should never apply to her aspirations, whether it be through her writing, music, or art. And so, with the help of YouTube and a fair amount of neglecting her basic needs, she’s slowly, but surely, increased her art skills. From the inability to draw stick figures, to now creating beautiful paintings, building elaborate Halloween decorations from scratch, and even high school musical sets like the little mermaid Junior. Instead of saying “I can’t” she says, “I want to do this, how do I get there?” The words we say to ourselves matter.
