REHEARSALS

 

We rehearse every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the CPAC from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm (not all actors will be called for all rehearsals). There are occasional Saturday rehearsals as needed (ample notice will be provided for these rehearsals).

Rehearsals Start: Schedule will be available soon on Google Classroom. Please check regularly.

How to Sign up for an Audition

  • Sign-ups will be completely digital. See link below.

  • Auditions will be on a first-come, first-served basis. 

  • Auditions will be up to five minutes

  • Once you fill out the form below, you will be put on the list. Make sure to list your preferred roles and any known conflicts. 

  • Auditions are open to ALL CURRENT STUDENTS at Crismon Junior High/High School. You do not need to be part of Drama or Theater classes to participate.

  • Check in at the lobby of the theater.

  • Please plan to stay at the audition until you have completed your own audition. Then you are free to leave.

WHAT TO PREPARE

  • Males will sing Good Kid

  • Females will sing My Grand Plan

  • Tracks available on Google Classroom

  • Auditions will be in 3 parts

    • 1st- Dance Audition- Everyone will dance together in their assigned groups.

    • 2nd- Vocal Audition with one of the songs above

    • 3rd- Following the vocal portion, please review and perform the sides provided for your first role choice. (Sides are on Google Classroom)

  • Refer to Google Classroom for additional audition material. Classroom code: jd347ohd


 

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing to move in

  • Bring a printed copy of your resume and headshot. If you do not have access to a printer, please email Mr. Thorn at rthorn@qcusd.org prior to the audition and he will print it up for you.

  • Bring a positive attitude, high energy and a character.

  • Do not bring props or costumes. 

  • Please bring your respect. We ask that you are quiet in the lobby.

About This Production

SHOW SYNOPSIS

 

A young boy named Percy Jackson has never quite found a place where he belongs—until the day his substitute math teacher attacks him, and he's whisked away to Camp Half-Blood. There, he learns he's the son of Poseidon and must go on a quest to clear his father's name and stop a war among the gods. Alongside his friends Annabeth and Grover, Percy sets out for the Underworld to save the world, facing terrifying monsters, manipulative gods, and even a mischievous squirrel along the way—each obstacle bringing the trio closer to their goal.

 

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS

 

Principal Roles:

PERCY JACKSON

  • Gender: Male

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings many solos, many lines, some dance

  • Description: A brave, sarcastic demigod who discovers he's the son of Poseidon. Though impulsive and unsure of himself, he's fiercely loyal and always willing to protect the people he loves.

ANNABETH CHASE

  • Gender: Female

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings many solos, many lines, featured dancer

  • Description: The intelligent, ambitious daughter of Athena. She is determined to prove herself, often hiding her vulnerable side behind confidence and logic.

GROVER UNDERWOOD

  • Gender: Male

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings many solos, many lines, physically challenging role

  • Description: Percy's best friend and a satyr tasked with protecting him. Kind-hearted, anxious, and funny, he dreams of finding the lost god Pan.

LUKE CASTELLAN

  • Gender: Male

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings solo, moderate lines, movement/dance feature

  • Description: A charismatic son of Hermes, who initially appears to be Percy's mentor. Beneath his charm lies deep resentment toward the gods and a desire for change.

CLARISSE LA RUE

  • Gender: Female

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings solo, moderate lines, movement/dance feature

  • Description: The fearless, competitive daughter of Ares. Tough and intimidating on the outside, she values strength and earning respect.

SALLY JACKSON

  • Gender: Female

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings solo, moderate lines, little dance

  • Description: Percy's loving and selfless mother, who always puts her son first. She is compassionate, resilient, and a source of unwavering support.

MR. BRUNNER/CHIRON

  • Gender: Male

  • Vocal/Dance: Sings solo, moderate lines, little dance

  • Description: Percy's teacher, who is secretly the immortal centaur Chiron. Wise, patient, and encouraging, he trains young heroes to fulfill their destinies. (Two people needed)

  • Mrs. Dodds: Female, very few lines; A fury posing as a substitute algebra teacher.

  • Gabe: Male, few lines; Percy's foul stepfather.
