SHOW SYNOPSIS
"The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition" is a hilarious play about a drama society putting on a murder mystery play, "The Murder at Haversham Manor." The show is plagued by constant mishaps, including forgotten lines, collapsing sets, misplaced props, and actors breaking character. The play hilariously descends into chaos, with the drama society struggling to keep the show (and themselves) from falling apart.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS
Chris Bean (Plays Inspector Carter)
ROLE: Director of the Cornley Drama Society and the lead detective in the murder mystery.
TRAITS: Overly serious, desperate for the show to succeed, easily frustrated as chaos unfolds.

Robert Grove (Plays Thomas Colleymoore)
ROLE: A pompous member of the society, playing the best friend of the murder victim.
TRAITS: Bad actor, oblivious to the disasters around him, tries to maintain dignity despite everything falling apart.

Dennis Tyde (Plays Perkins the Butler)
ROLE: Plays the butler in the murder mystery.
TRAITS: Struggles with lines and pronunciation, often needs prompting, unintentionally funny.

Max Bennett (Plays Cecil Haversham and Arthur the Gardener)
ROLE: Plays both the murder victim’s brother and the gardener.
TRAITS: Inexperienced, loves audience attention, breaks character to soak up applause, physically comedic.

Sandra Wilkinson (Plays Florence Colleymoore)
ROLE: Plays the murder victim’s fiancée.
TRAITS: Dramatic, competitive, wants to be the star, often at odds with Annie.

Annie Twilloil (Stage Manager/Florence Understudy)
ROLE: Normally the stage manager, but steps in as Florence when Sandra is indisposed.
TRAITS: Reluctant performer, nervous on stage, grows more confident (and competitive) as the show goes on.

Trevor Watson (Lighting & Sound Operator)
ROLE: The tech operator, sometimes forced on stage.
TRAITS: Disinterested in the play, more concerned with technical issues, gets dragged into the chaos.
